Heath Services Annual Report Example

Hello fellow nurses,

In this time of uncertainty and budget cuts, I wanted to share with you a way you could show your school board, PTA, administrators, etc. just what school nurses accomplish in the school and for the children of Texas.

Several years ago I shared with TSNO the annual report our district nurses submit annually to our school board.  This report has been on our website for several years. I am thrilled to put the latest and improved edition on the website that includes when an RN made the difference…stories from the clinics and the future of school health services.  View here for the report.

More cuts are expected next year.  We must keep awareness of school nurses’ achievements and worth in the forefront.

Continue to sparkle nurses, sparkle!

Sparkle, Nurses, Sparkle!!

Please share your best practices with your fellow nurses. Enter our TSNO SCHOOL NURSING SHOWCASE

We want to showcase the ideas and programs that our varied and talented nurses across the state use in their practice at our Annual Conference in November in Austin.  Here are ideas to get you thinking, but are not limited to.  LVN abstracts must be co-authored by an RN.
  • Have you had success with an immunization program or asthma program?
  • Have you conducted a mini research at your school on best practice for relieving headaches, stomachaches, or whatever your number 1 complaint in the clinic is?
  • Did you establish a walking program or other health practice with your students?
  • Do you have an innovative way of organizing your clinic or training staff to give medicines when you are not present?
  • Have you had a successful presentation to school boards on why nurses are important to the education system?
  • Have you created a good in-service for other school nurses?
